My Mother refused to allow us to be afraid of lightning storms when we were little. During a thunderstorm, she created front-row seats for me and my younger sister on our grandmother's enclosed back porch. Each time the thunder would clap, so would we. We were awestruck. Our “OOOHs’” and “AHHHs’” and “YAAYs’” validated our utter amazement at the flashing colors and the strength of each majestic lightning bolt. What a spectacular display of power! WE - in those moments - were part of the greatest show on earth. And we had joy! To not be afraid of storms was the surface lesson Mom taught, but her message, hidden beneath the surface, was that we should consciously find and pursue joy, find and pursue beauty, find and pursue what is valuable, what is positive - CREATE IT, if you must - in whatever appears to be a dark place. I have been a cloud-chaser ever since. The CLOUDCHAYZER umbrella comes from that beautiful yet powerful teaching. CLOUDCHAYZER's philosophy is to not cater to the spirit of “it is what it is” but to create solutions - especially in the dark. It is our desire to be a light in traditionally underserved communities where a portion of our increase will be sown.
